movavi

Have a great video online that you want to use in your ministry? Maybe someone sent you a video that you want to convert to a different format.

The best online solution I have found for these purposes is Movavi. It is easy to use and not very finicky. I’ve used a variety of different sites that do the same things, but they always seem to have a few quirks.

leadership-nugget

One of the priorities in my prayer and planning day earlier this month was to develop a communication time line. I started thinking that I not only need to communicate about events that happen from year to year, but I need to communicate other pertinent reminders throughout the year. I thought this time line might be helpful for you. It is in an editable format so you can adjust to fit your ministry needs.

What would you add to it? Send me some comments to make it better!

vertex42_70b_blue

Vertex42 is a unique site full of Microsoft Excel templates. These things are very high quality. They are free to use, they just ask that you don’t edit their format and you can always purchase a more full version if you like. However, for ministry needs, I think that would be a rare occasion.

game contestants

This blog post is going to be a little different. I have found a website with various “game show controls” for games like Deal or No Deal, Wheel of Fortune, Press Your Luck, Family Feud, and others. These are downloadable applications which you can customize to fit your needs. You could use them for review games in a kids class, for fun games at a retreat or camp, or with your volunteers at an appreciation event.

I’m not giving the link yet, though. In order to get the link posted, I have to see 10 comments about the picture above. Just jot a quick comment about what you sarcastically like the best about that pic. I’ll get the ball rolling:

“I like the energy, however, I’m wondering if I am pushing the limits by showing adult “midriff” on a Children’s Ministry site!”

Give me 10 comments, I’ll give you the link!

Congrats, you did it, here’s the link:

dzine blog

Several years ago, I realized that my design skills just weren’t cutting it. In a nutshell, the stuff I produced as newsletters and promotional material was junk. I decided to learn from others who know what they are doing (a generally good rule of thumb in any circumstances!). I’m no pro, but most of my stuff looks decent. One of the tools I use to inspire myself and get free fonts and logos is dzineblog. It is a great tool that I peruse on a weekly basis.

And if you want to read some great articles on the basics of design, check out Kenny Conley’s series on the topic. Just go to his site and search for design, there are about 8 posts on the series.

kids sunday school place

Puzzles…crafts…games…object lessons…lessons…coloring pages…skits.

Sound good?

Then go to Kids Sunday School Place. You can pay them for a membership, but they have a load of stuff that is free. Go for it and if you can, support their ministry with a membership or a donation!

kidology open source

Hey, you want 3 years worth of free curriculum? Well, then go right now and download all of Kidology’s Open Source Curriculum. I’m jealous…I wish I would have thought of this. You can download it for free (just register on the site), add to it your own flavor, then upload it back to the site for others to see. It is truly “open-source” curriculum! Great job Karl! And thanks for the shout outs!
