Two lucky people will win (1 DVD per winner). Here’s how to enter:
- Go to this link
- Listen to a few songs
- Comment here on this post about which song was your favorite
Next Wednesday, I’ll randomly choose two lucky winners from all the entries. One entry per person.

Here’s two audio Bible tools for you. Interestingly, they are both called “Pod Bibles.” The first is a Podcast, but you can listen to the Scriptures from their site. Play these during teaching times to add a new dimension to the Scriptures.
The second is a readable Bible for your iPod. It uses the “Notes” portion of the iPod firmware. Read it on the train, in a plane, in the car (while not driving), in the bathroom (don’t drop it in), use with an impromptu devotion at camp…whatever!

I love music. Since I miss a great deal of worship services, I worship at many other times aside from Sunday mornings. One of the tools I use in the office each week is a site called Grooveshark. You can listen (not necessarily download) virtually any song you can think of. It is a free, internet-based music service. You can purchase a membership with them in order to listen to music in more versatile ways as well.

A couple of years ago, a friend let me know about a unique ministry called Talks for Growing Christians. This site has some very straightforward Bible teachings which can be streamed or downloaded. I also like that they provide lesson notes and questions to consider as you listen along. You could easily turn this into your daily Bible study.

This week, I am beginning an 8 post series about how we who lead children can keep our spiritual focus. I will highlight various resources that help put a spark in your spirit! This will go for 3 straight weeks, aside from a Wednesday Give Away next week. One thing that is critical for every believer is sitting under the authority of God’s Word. We certainly need to be in personal Bible study every day, but there is something about the preaching of God’s Word that motivates our spirit to be disciples who walk more closely to Jesus. I have not sat through an entire Sunday worship serviceĀ in close to a year. I’m sure that many of you are in the same boat. Both of my children’s worship services take place during the two adult worship services and I feel a strong calling as the Pastor to Kids, that I need to be the one preaching to them. I can not contract that out.
I work around this by listening to sermons in the car and while working out. I wanted to compile a list of notable places to listen to or download free, Bible based messages. I hope you may find some of these helpful, they are in no particular order.
- OnePlace–This website has an enormous array of streaming sermons. Downloads, however, generally cost a few bucks.
- SEBTS Chapel–My seminary has a host of notable speakers and all messages are freely accessible and downloadable.
- Sermon Audio–A great place to go if you are interested in getting messages dealing with particular topics or books you are studying. If you want your toes stepped on about wishy washy discipleship, download this message by Paul Washer.
- Mark Driscoll–The Pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. He is now several weeks in to a Luke study which he plans on taking 3 years to finish. I hope to stick it out with him and so far I have not been disappointed!
- John MacArthur–Leader of Grace To You Ministries. His site has decades of his Bible teaching.
- John Piper–Founder of Desiring God Ministries. His site also has years of sermons on various Bible passages, social issues, and doctrinal topics.
- David Platt–David is a tremendous up and coming pastor of Brook Hills Church. His teaching is up front and challenging.
- S. Lewis Johnson–This guy is old school, but you can find a great deal of in-depth Bible teachings and messages on theology and doctrine at the Believer’s Chapel site.
- Clay Waters–This is my pastor and I keep up with his sermons as well! He’s a great preacher.
- Ravi Zacharias–Ravi is an international apologist. His site is filled with sermons he has preached on apologetics and biblical worldview.
- Tom Nelson–Tom is the pastor of Denton Bible Church. He is very good at splashing humor throughout his messages.
Please feel free to comment on any other places you have found dynamic bible based teachings!

If you are not familiar with Skype, it is a free computer to computer/phone line calling software. Computer phone systems have not quite taken the country by storm, but at this point they do have some special abilities, and yes, for the sake of my site, Skype is free (for the basic features and computer to computer calling).
This Sunday, I will be calling a family from our church who is serving in East Asia during both children’s worship services. I’ll project their video call on the screen and the computer will emit sound through the sound system so that all the kids in the worship can take part. We will hear them share their heart for missions and using a web cam in the worship room, we will allow some children to ask the missionary children questions.
We have done this once before and it was a success. You do have to beware that the video and sound could be choppy and it may take a few tries when the other person is in a country with poor internet infrastructure. But overall, it’s a good way to expose kids to missions work.

Well, this is our last day of the “Freed Up” Ministry series. I hope that you have gotten some great resources over the last several weeks.
Today, I think you need to check out the Seeds Family Worship YouTube channel. Seeds Family Worship has some great free music videos that you can easily use as worship videos or intro music to events. Check out:
You may recall a previous post here about how Seeds gives away the guitar chords for every one of their songs. I love to hear of organizations like this, willing to give of the resources God has given them.
Download these videos through a website such as Vixy, Gazzump, or Media Converter.
In the future, be on the look out for :
- More Wednesday Give Aways
- New Feature: Leadership Nuggets (small ideas or articles to help you in your ministry)
- New Series: Keep Your Focus (free resources to keep you spiritually focused)
