Have you heard yet? Some of the biggest names in CM are offering their professional advice at the Children’s Ministry Telesummit. This completely free call-in conference is taking place June 21 and 22. There will be 8 hours of training on each day and you can pick and choose which sessions in which you would like to take part. That means you can go to a children’s ministry conference in nothing but your Tom and Jerry boxers while you eat a bowl of Captain Crunch. That’s pretty freakin’ awesome!
Who’s leading sessions? Let me name drop: Jim Wideman, Karl Bastian, Gina McClain, Amy Dolan, David Wakerly, and others (see them all here). Check out the Telesummit partners in the Exhibit Hall.
Register for it. Tell your volunteers about it. Thank Jeremy Collins for doing it. Make your smartphone remind you about it. Cherish it. Learn from it. Be a better leader because of it.

This month, I’m giving away 1 hour of ministry phone consultation. We can do one of several things over this conversation (or a mixture of any listed):
- Discuss ministry strategies
- Talk through points of conflict in your ministry
- Work on philosophy and vision development
- Go through a training or two that you could conduct with your volunteers
- Conference call with your key volunteers to discuss ministry purpose and direction
- Work through some administrative issues such as volunteer recruiting or safety and security policies
- **Or click the logo above to see other consulting training services I offer in order to best suit your situation
If you are interested in this process, please leave a comment below simply stating the word “Help” with your name. Be sure to put your email address in the info box. You have until next Wednesday to put your name in the hat! Good luck!

Children’s Ministry University Online is a partnership with Valley Forge Christian College. It is an “online, 30-credit degree program in children’s ministries” that is fully accredited through the College.
They also offer several free training resources on their website. To be honest, every training will not be beneficial to the Children’s Ministry veteran, however, I do see them as being a fruitful part of equipping newbies and potential leaders in your ministry. The professionals out there may find one or two that is helpful. The topics you can choose from are:
I can see these being productive to a variety of people. You may want to send your newly appointed Children’s Church leader to watch the one on Children’s Church and Children’s Sermons. If God has put on your heart to minister to special needs children, be sure to check out the disabilities training.
These trainings come in an online presentation format including the speaker and slides. Some are more “training-oriented” and some are more “classroom-oriented” in their presentation. Hope they can be a tool for you!
